Nothing can be done. Temporary fixes make the long term even worse . Borrowing usd to fix the shortage of reserves . Everything adds up and you see a burst . This is why the interest needs to be pushed to attract foreign inflows or foreign deposits who love the interest paid on savings. This is why the rand is somewhat under control for many years

Towards the end of next week , probably somewhere in the 14s , will be a good shorting opportunity as the FED delivers a somewhat dovish message , (jobs numbers weak and Omicron etc. ) the predator hedge funds that are short lira will also look to book end of year profits ( you know the traders and bankers need to get their bonuses ) ,, so stay put until then …

Officially, PPI 9.99% m/m 54.62% y/y What is the opinion of the economic genius Erdogan? He cut interest rates in order to reduce inflation, but what happened is the opposite. I used to defend Erdogan when some accused him of being a dictator, but now I am completely convinced that he is an extremist dictator.

Liesl Tziolis  The theory behind this is fibonacci retracement levels:  23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, and 61.8%. Note that we can safely ignore 23.6% and 38.2% at price extremes as retracements are generally larger. So retracements generally go to 50%, 61.8% or more of the last spike. That's why I always exit at 50%.

Miguel Eduardo  Estimating the time frame is not my forte. But I generally don't miss the top when it arrives :) If you look back at my history, I have successfully called the top of CAR at around $480 on 2/11/21. Bear in mind, I don't make calls daily on that discussion, and I think that was the first message that I typed in that discussion.

Unfortunately, Turkish central bank intervention this time is NOT even noticeable on a daily graph. Meaning i think it will be likely that central bank will LOSE this level pretty soon.

The price action is analogous to "A bluff by central bank that has been called". As such, the central bank will be punished very soon.
