Nvda's stock price has, over the last two or so years, followed a familiar pattern - it steadily reaches a new high then drops about 10-15%, pauses, and climbs again.  As such, the drop to the 230's/240's (particularly as this was part of a broader sell-off) should IMHO be seen as buying opportunity - if Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan et al are suggesting $300+ in the next year, that's further support for my view, but DYOR!!

As much as I'd like to think so, there is no assurance that this time will be like other times in the past. The technical damage this time has been much worse than the corrections we saw in Feb/March, violating the uptrend channel and the 200DMA, so all bets are up. Long term it still looks good, but the next month or two might be tricky if we don't get some good news that support the stock (including of course good Q3 results).

Jesse Dijkstra Well, in order to be 'positive' it needs to close above the previous high (~$246,5), sooner rather than later. If it does then we have probably a good rebound in the works, but I don't like it one bit that in the last few days the beta has been considerably higher going down than on the way up.

On the one side, It's never been as oversold in two years as it is today, and as soon as the price climbed up a bit we should see a huge short squeeze, but on the other side yesterday it went through the 200DMA like it wasn't even there and finished with a long bearish candle. In other words, we're in a very volatile situation so I would be very careful because the possibilty of being on the wrong side whatever you do is very high.. What I'm hoping to see today is a close above $246, because two days in a row trading below 200 DMA would be a huge red flag.

wow! there are small investors reading what y'all write hoping to gain education and insight and learn how to invest and make a little money. we hope to hear from seasoned investors with experienced knowledge. may I suggest a little professional courtesy on these message boards? IMHO this is not helpful to small/new investors looking for guidance.

disagree. NVDA is long gone from under $200 range. 'investing experts' who said NVDA is too expensive at $160 or $190. where are they now? NVDA is a great company and they always find an edge over the competition, since their very first graphic card. and they did a few smart moves to penetrate and dominate other-than-gaming sectors. i'm very confident it will double in a few years. long term hold, nothing else.

Brandon Dalbec It didn't. It went 5% after an upgrade that came after a 50% retracement of a strong new rally that came as a reversal at $239. But hey, we'll now soon enough, won't we?
