Goldman is promoting NVDIA on facebook heavily for months now. They have been selling to retail traders while accumulating AMD. Remember the big drop in August and recovered? Prepare for another one. I would wait. Buy the rumor sell the news/sponsored Facebook post.

We'll know much more in a few more days when the NDAs are lifted and we see independent numbers, however the high prices are going to prevent a real explosion in sales, particularly now that crypto is out of the picture.. This is probably going to pay off in the medium/long term, not so much in the next 12 months.

Maybe, but I wouldn't say this is the safest time to get in. Next week we'll get the first independent reviews of Turing, the big money maker for Nvidia for the next 1,5-2 years, so a lot is riding on the verdict of the reviewers.

Remember AMD's navi is coming. AMD will do the same as they did with Intel year ago. Also RTX seem to be pretty disappointing to the point that they dont allow their partners to review product freely. //// the demo that show on lunch is nowhere near RTX2080ti, that was $68,000 gpu not $1200. Probably better to wait and buy in 2019/ 2020

GTX still going strong, nvidia refused return card. So they need to sell RTX above MSRP to cover the lost. just wait a few months after RTX launch, well see what will happen.

We're getting close to $290. If it hasn't reversed by then that would be very likely point for a correction, so it might make sense to realize some profits for people who want to trade this stock rather than hold & buy.

Just a clarification: These cards look very nice, but more for the new features than their raw performance at doing conventional rasterization. For the current crop of games with no ray-tracing features the comparision would be more like 11 TFLOPS to 14 TFLOPS, so about 25% more (and certainly not 7x more).. Bottom line: they look like very good cards for a variety of reasons, but they're not 7x more powerful than the previous generation.

It was just 'meh' as I expected. A very modest beat and slightly lower guidance for Q3 than what Wall Street expected. Unless Colette Kress pulls off a jedi mind trick during earnings call this is going to sell-off moderately tomorrow, although nothing like Netflix or Facebook.

I still haven't changed my mind and think that the results are going to be 'meh' or 'just fine', but I couldn't help but pick a few shares after see the increasing pre-earnings hype, including the surprising double upgrade from Wells Fargo. I got a sense that the bar has been lowered enough that even a modest beat will get this going nicely.
