yes the truth is always in the numbers but keep in mind that just because they have registered a vin doesn't mean that car has been sold. all the cars on a dealership lot have vin numbers but none are as yet sold. also many people have complained about disappearing vins, and being reissued new vin numbers down the road; don't know what that's all about. my point is I wouldn't rely on vin registration to determine how sales or even manufacture are doing. I feel we should wait for more concrete numbers provided from reliable sources such as state registration records. for overseas sales I think it's more reasonable to wait for official government updates on registrations/sales records. in my mind that just makes more sense.

Tesla registered about 13k VIN's according to Teslarati.  You can google it as of Febrary 19, 2019.  That's nothing!

$35K M3 is here, China and EU demand is very strong, VIN registrations show there is no demand "problem" in US as some shorties wish. With the backdrop of 100% revenue increase in 2018, 2 back to back profit quarters, Model Y right around the corner..... This is a catapult loaded. I cannot wait.

Altino Gonçalves I had a guy who managed some money for me come in when the stock was $82. And I think I was 62. [Note: This chronology is incompatible but whatever.] I had given myself a Tesla for my sixtieth birthday. And he had this incredibly effective analysis, like 20 pages of financials about why Tesla was a short. And at then end of this presentation – really well thought-out – I said, “Have you ever driven the car?”. . And he said, “No.” And I sent him his redemption notice the next week.

just the same way you did :). Many traders made a *****and many got killed depending on their speculation. I strongly believe such stock is great for the long term, once they mature all their models and energy products, they just can't grow fast enough which is a good problem to have. keep in mind, they are not competing with other EVs rather with the erroding 4Trillion + ICE auto market.

We are still in the stone age of electric vehicles. people are as excited about this technological advancement as they were about the first smart phones. which looking back were far less advanced than phones today and the same can be said for a computers or any technology. In two decades we will look back and see how truly rudimentary this tech is. many advances still need to take place for this tech to be commonplace; through that process Titans will rise and fall. where Tesla lies in that is hard to predict because the company is highly unpredictable, they may become highly profitable or they may crash and burn. The only thing I do know is that I am comfortable with how I got to my valuation and currently feel the company is still over valued; in 6 months that valuation may or may not change.

china has good reason to invest heavily in EV. Have you ever seen the congestion there? And a vast majority of transport is cycles. Trying to remember what you call them here, they are the small motor cycles.... you sit on them like A chair. scooters maybe? you get my point. India has the same problem, too many people and really heavy pollution. So yes it's in their best interest. In the states there are still areas that have a very low population density and EV is highly impractical. City has problems with charging, have you ever tried to find a parking space in NYC; takes 30 minutes on a good day.

when you mark something as spam an actual person reviews it as its the only way to determine the context of the post. I've seen things marked as spam that have not been removed and things that have been removed. also when you use certain wording in your post, it can take a while for a person to review it and decide if it's suitable to permit it being posted

Altino Gonçalves stating speculative numbers is meaningless discussion. But if you want numbers, I would say $420 and company goes private.

the rich buy Ferrari in China, the poor can't afford cars in China, the middle class buys Nio or some affordable gasoline cars. Only few fanboys would buy this car in China.
