Why is everyone buying when the trend is down? The big sell off on monday should have been an indicator of what the big boys are doing. Selling into strength. It's made a a double top now with break of 2343. Follow the technicals, not whatever assumption you've created.

I think we will head higher from here 2380-90. Some input from the market:The EU grind data was strong at above 7% more than last year and should have been very positive for prices. The outlook for strong production in the coming year has been enough to keep the prices in a short-term range, but declining exports from Ivory Coast should provide some support. Exports are now 1.809 million tons, down 3% from last year, and there are reports that the quality of the Cocoa exported has declined as well.

In the middle of April there was 37% that El Nino will form by early fall according to Bloomberg. Today this chance is 65%. El Nino is considered harmful for cocoa yields. Will see how it goes in next weeks.

Good finding hazard, even 70% chance in the winter : "According to the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center (CPC), the likelihood of the El Nino formation in autumn of the current year increased to 65% and to 70% in winter 2018/19"

Cocoa a rollercoaster: July 16 (Reuters) - Abundant rainfall in most of Ivory Coast's cocoa regions last week is helping flowers develop into small pods and bodes well for the October-to-March main crop, farmers said on Monday.

Yeah,  trading robots kicking in, nothing fundamentally about the crop explains this drop otherwise, that hasn't been known for some weeks.

Watch out with shorts for the moment folks: * Europe's second-quarter cocoa grind rose 7.3 percent from the same period last year to 356,109 tonnes, the Brussels-based European Cocoa Association said on Monday. The figure was higher than dealer expectations for a rise of roughly 3 percent in Europe, the world's largest processing region..* This was seen as positive, although part of the rise may have been due to a shift in processing from other regions over to Europe, said Jonathan Parkman, head of agriculture at Marex Spectron.
