Look at the newsflow - it's changed from ultra negative about cocoa production and high demand to flip the other way round. Ecuador going to be #2 producer in 2 years so loads more production coming on stream. Rain forecast around Ivory Coast and end of El Nino so mid harvest looking more promising, and we're told some longs unwinding from the big players so less speculation. Remember even $6000 is over double and close to treble the usual price prior to 2023/24

Good morning, for today I expect a test of the 11100-11000 zone and then a decline (today and tomorrow) to the 10150-10000 zone. I do not expect any changes to my predictions. I wish everyone a profitable day again.

Don't be fooled, people. This rallye is mainly driven by a massive short squeeze over months and weeks. The big boys need more and more short sellers to keep that squeeze running. That's why they tell you to got short, to hold your position, to not use SL, blah, blah. Also - and here we're talking about brute facts - you can check out wholesale prices of cocoa beans directly via internet. And here we're talking about prices from 20$ even up to 100$ per kilogram (i.e. prices of 20k to 100k per metric ton!). You don't have to relay on my words, you can see these prices for yourself! And now you really think 11k per MT is cheap?! And a good opportunity to short?! Then you better go playing in the sandpit, kiddo...

Thanks for confirming. Jul contract is around 11k per tonne which is $5 per pound. The long term chart looks like it still has legs to roughly 20k which is about $10 per pound. And you're saying that some are already paying that up in the cash market.

The cocoa powder price which is made of 100% cocoa bean on Amazon is around $0.57 / Ounce ($20K / Metric Ton). Well you can definitely find cheaper prices than this one on Amazon. Remember this price includes obviously cocoa bean cost, plus grinding cost, packaging cost, shipping cost, tariff, retail cost, delivery cost and profit (The real cost actually is more than these). Current cocoa bean futures price is around $11K / Metric Ton. Do the calculus. How much money do you think these cocoa beans seller on Amazon can make givien this current futures price?

Well... In Poland for example on the most popular auction portal, a retail price of 1 kg can be found for around 6$. https://allegro.pl/oferta/kakao-naturalne-1kg-niealkalizowane-w-proszku-12319913131 Something does not add up here at all

You can find the retail price for some type of extremely high quality cocoa powder over $1.5 / ounce on US Amazon, however, this price doesn't make any sense related to bulk commodities. The price for a pack of popular cocoa powder (35 ounce) is $19.99 on Amazon, while the delivery cost, storage cost and referral fee included in this price is over $10.97 charged by Amazon, which means the seller will lose money if he bought cocoa powder higher than $9.02 ($9.09 / KG). So the only chance these sellers can make money is that the cocoa's price must be lower than at least $5K / Metric Ton since there are other costs like shipping and grinding. I believe you guys are smart enough to do this calculus.

Today is another profitable day, I just thought we will reach 10150, no problem :) It will take some time to break the 10000 mark. Tomorrow we can retest the 11100-11000 boundary and after that we should continue to decline towards the 10150-10000 boundary. Good evening everyone.
