Guys, since this moves so much with oil. Isn't it better to trade oil? If that goes high, this will go high too.

But Willy, if you look at the monthly chart, you can see, that when oil was higher so was the wheat. It's logical I guess, you need lots of oil to grow wheat. Tractors, combines, ...

Yes and you need wheat to make oil as well. So plant some wheat and a year from now you can start drilling for oil in the same spot.

PP: the correlation is because when USD falls commodities surge. One should not draw conclusions too fast.

I apologize. But I thought it was a pretty funny joke. PP. Wheat and other grains are driven by weather, production size from other countries, demand from consumers, and area planted. Whilst oil is driven by global demand, and global production, right now mainly by Opec, Russia and the US production amounts since there's a global surplus. So any correlation you see is almost entirely down to the movement of the USD. USD strengthened a lot in 2014-2015 so a lot of commodities fell a lot. Lately it's falling, helping commodities rise.
