21.9%! - that's how much hydrous #ethanol prices jumped in Sao Paulo, #Brazil's main fuel market, this month. Ethanol is rising as demand continues strong

Two potential wave counts https://invst.ly/a3wcg I still favor a deeper retracement to complete wave 2 but the alternate count is worth watching.

Broker and consultancy INTL FCStone estimates that current ethanol prices in Sao Paulo, Brazil’s largest fuels market, are equivalent to a hypothetical sugar price of $14.39 per pound considering New York futures...FCStone sugar analyst João Botelho believes mills could change the mix slightly toward sugar due to the expectation of a global sugar supply deficit, but they would still produce more ethanol than the sweetener when cane processing starts in April.

As on 15th February, 2019, 507 sugar mills in the country have produced 219.30 lac tons of sugar, as compared to 203.55 lac tons produced by 494 mills on the corresponding date last year. Higher production this year is mainly because Maharashtra and Karnataka sugar mills started their crushing earlier this year. Overall, the country is expected to produce less sugar this season as compared to last season-ISMA

You said zero fundamental reason for it to hit 13.5. It already did and looking to go higher. You can't just selectively find fundamental reasons and get stubborn, or shall i say arrogant about it. The most important thing is still the technicals. I don't pity your losses if you're short, shouldn't laugh at others.

Business Standard – 19 February 2019: Sugar output in India, which vies with Brazil as the world’s top producer, will likely drop to a three-year low next season as dry weather in some main growing areas of the western region cuts planting...Production may decline to less than 30 million tons in the year that begins on Oct. 1 from an estimated 31.5 million tons this season, said Prakash Naiknavare, managing director of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. India produced record 32.5 million tons in 2017-18, according to the Indian Sugar Mills Association

Sorry, was on holiday so catching up on news. If sugar was trading around 12.8 and India hiked domestic prices by 7% doesn't that translate to 7% higher international prices, around 14? Why are some calling for 15-15.5 or even higher? How do you calculate this?

zlatko kornakov 2.8 B$ will not create inflation in India for sure, you must understand that year is election year, you will see lot of irrational decisions, just to get popularity. At the end of day if they will contract 3.5-4 mt of ethanol next year day will have sugar deficit which they will cover from existing stocks. In 2-3 years India will be without any sugar stocks + they will collect "soft loans" . Do you know what is FIFO principe in logistic? They will not have problems with old stocks, you can calculate. But if we will see #11 in range 15-15.5 they will start export

zlatko kornakov Man, you sound quite arrogant. What you hahaing about? It doesn't matter the reason. I just suggested they put into storage. All that matters in trading is short term up and downs. Market finds many reasons to go up and down, not just what's in your head. The technicals after breaking 13.3 is quite bullish. Traget for inverse head and shoulders is 14.8. So shorts like yourself will get squeezed no matter what fundamental reason you come up with in your head.
