I have the strangest feeling that sugar is going to snap.  Not today mind you but if we don't see any material move over 13 in the next week, it might be heading for one of those down 40 cent days.

Ethanol parity with sugar is currently estimated at 13.69 on a spot basis and on a forward basis (May to Oct 2019) sugar has an advantage over ethanol estimated at around 90 NY points, so movements in Crude/gasoline prices downwards and a weakening BRL (now back to 3.92 v the USD) will continue to cap any advance

If you are looking for the weekly commitment of traders reports from the CFTC, you can forget about it...The memorial service for President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday, was a national holiday for markets and federal offices including the CFTC.  As a result, the worker bees there are not prepared to release the numbers at the usual 3:30 PM ET time today. ..You can expect it on Monday instead.

INDIA - China unlikely to import 2 million mt this year: officialsAlthough talks to open up the Chinese market to Indian sugar are ongoing, progress has been very slow and will be further slowed down by the recent truce between the US and China, according to an Indian government official. In addition, China has already imported all of its quota for the year, so the target to export 2 million mt this year is unlikely, he added.

Mexico to have 1.57 million mt for world market in 2018/19 Mexico should have around 1.57 million mt of sugar to export to the world market in 2018/19, taking into account the carryover stocks and assuming a production of 6.2 million mt and 708,000mt exported to the US, according to Zafranet. There is concern that this could result in lower cane prices, although the crop continues to be among the most profitable.

Otherwise, the Oct-Dec Northeast Monsoon was 47% below normal in Karnataka and 12% below normal in Tamil Nadu as of November 28.
