Out at 887.25 after the disappointing oil report. It slammed all futures. I'm still bullish on beans. Shorting Wheat now.

Go long, place protection at 879.00. Take profit at 900.00 or at tomorrow's close, whichever comes first.

I can care less about the fundamentals since I use 99.999% on technical analysis. I'm very good at what I do. I'm sure you are too. We just get there differently.

Oh yes... I'm a Chicagoan. We were born knowing grains inside and out. I know weather better than 99.99999% than the general population. Reports? OMG... My phone is diluted with downloads of NASS and USDA reports just because I get bored analyzing charts. I need to read something a few times a week. Thanks for asking...

How high? Well, the charts say next resistance is near 910-920. Although, the shorts will have to cover at any price. There is also one more factor beyond the a-b-c-d below, and that is buyers other than China will see the prices rise, and will want to lock in a VERY CHEAP price till 930-940, now that they see price rising.. My charts show over past 3 years the LR median price is ~970ish. The 1yr 1SD (std dev)  price is a falling target near 945-940. The 1.5SD is near 975-965.

So, (a) Short covering (b) Dakotas snow (c) China buying US beans indicating they cannot get enough elsewhere (d) Other buyers cannot resist a bargain - remember - someone was buying Brazilian beans before....So, (a) + (b) + (c) + (d) = scorching rally!

There a lot of resistence between 890-900, but this is when they historically make their run... and also historically when exports go sky high too

DanteValerian If the rates and stocks get hammered, one would normally expect commodities to get hammered as hedge funds close (long) positions. But in this case, it would drive soymeans UP, cause funds are short, and closing positions to free up margins will mean buying contracts.

Conmercials aren't short sellers. Tgeir crop is a ling position. The futures they sell flatten their price risk. Speculators who don't have a crop as a long position short sell when they sell futures.

#1 - U.S. crops, including soybeans, are under negative pressure because of cancer causing Roundup scandal. #2 - China was #1 soybean customer for U.S. soybeans.. not anymore. #3 - America is an unreliable trading partner.
