Comment Guidelines

We encourage you to use comments to engage with users, share your perspective and ask questions of authors and each other. However, in order to maintain the high level of discourse we’ve all come to value and expect, please keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Enrich the conversation
  • Stay focused and on track. Only post material that’s relevant to the topic being discussed.
  • Be respectful. Even negative opinions can be framed positively and diplomatically.
  •  Use standard writing style. Include punctuation and upper and lower cases.
  • NOTE: Spam and/or promotional messages and links within a comment will be removed
  • Avoid profanity, slander or personal attacks directed at an author or another user.
  • Don’t Monopolize the Conversation. We appreciate passion and conviction, but we also believe strongly in giving everyone a chance to air their thoughts. Therefore, in addition to civil interaction, we expect commenters to offer their opinions succinctly and thoughtfully, but not so repeatedly that others are annoyed or offended. Here is the nasty situation. No real yield means pensions and life insurance companies have had to rely on this grossly overinflated market. The Fed and the market manipulation team are painfully aware that if they take their foot off the printed money rally for even an hour it will drop like a box of rocks. They have no choice but to keep gaming the chartists. .There is no way this administration will last even a few more months.  This is insanity of the highest order. I'm on the sidelines waiting for the collapse. It is a guarantee that this is going to happen. There is no kathematical way to pay back this debt.

You obviously are too young to know this is normal market behaviour, you didn't trade 1999 to 2001 did you ??

19/10/1987    30 years ago.. . In finance, Black Monday refers to Monday, October 19, 1987, when stock markets around the world crashed, shedding a huge value in a very short time. The crash began in Hong Kong and spread west to Europe, hitting the United States after other markets had already declined by a significant margin. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) fell exactly 508 points to 1,738.74 (22.61%). The terms Black Monday and Black Tuesday are also respectively applied to October 28 and October 29, 1929, which occurred after Black Thursday on October 24, which started the Stock Market Crash of 1929.
