8/9/18 - Here we are, Sept lumber in the low 400's.  That was faster than I had anticipated.  Good job, again, Serg on riding it down as far as you did.  You caught a good 50 ticks more than me.  I'm out of corn as of a few days ago after watching the congestion at resistance.  Tried to go long hogs but too early and got stopped out.  Neutral for now and watching.

This just came out....Time to cover......07-27 10:44: Lumber Futures Plunge Near 2018 Low -- Market Talk..13:44 ET - Lumber futures tumble toward the lowest point this year as.concerns about oversupply mount. A shortage helped push prices to record highs.of over $600 per 1,000 board feet. But traders are now betting the there's too.much -- not too little -- expensive timber. September contracts fall $15, or.3.1%, to the bottom of their allowed daily trading range at $462.30. Mills.producing the expensive timber have slashed asking prices as customers'.interest cools, says Random Lengths in a note to clients, with some lowering.prices by as much as $50: "The overall trading pace improved slightly from.recent weeks, but was far from enough to stem the bleeding.".(benjamin.parkin@wsj.com; @b_parkyn) ..(END) Dow Jones Newswires..July 27, 2018 13:44 ET (17:44 GMT).Copyright (c) 2018 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.

That is not really the case becasue in the lumber market it looks like Cash is driving the market...it could be 20 contracts....if cash is moving lower it will move down......as opposed to other markets where the futures markets have more of a say...........Anyways thats what I think....Brett       Dest    agree?

MWAN WAN Its not that well published . you kind of have to be an insider to really know....Brett on this board has been reporting    and his last report was 525 this morning.....lumber futures have been trading anywhere between 80-60 lower for the last month...Im sure there is a reason for the gap...having to do with delivery (which i dont know either) but the gap is there (and no I dont think that is the reason cash is being pulled down....again all this is just my opinion....

One more thing before i take another beating tomm.......Lets say it goes to 515 in the next day or two....well last week i was very happy when it hit 515 on the way down......so i have to look at it that way....even 520.....i was happy....so I should still be ok because there is no way Lumber goes back up to highs (the top is in) and if it isn't then I ********up  (not the first time)   but I just think it is really difficult to have a position then trade in and out of it....for instance if I buy back ...mentally it will be almost impossible to get back in ....so then I miss the entire move....Well that's it fellas....have a good day tomm cuz I know it wont be for me tomorrow.....Bye now....

Just sticking to the trade...like I said a month ago  it will not be easy

Well, I had expected some messiness around the 500 level, and we are well below that.  My inclination is to keep an eye on the charts and only short it if we hit 500 or go higher - and there is a possibility that may not happen again.  In the long run, we continue to head down, period, so if you do nothing else, I would imagine mid to low 400's by the end of August.  I've been riding corn up these days and don't like the danger zone that lumber is in right now (meaning, it could easily go either way).  You have enough profit in there to pretty much allow it to do whatever, but time will work in your favor. I'll keep watching and will stay in touch.

Serg Castro Interesting indeed. I bought Dec a week back and feel we have potential for a decent run north if the weather gets too toasty.  So far, a steady grind up despite the supply, but with tight world ending stocks that don’t have much room for any crop trouble.  And with the funds being heavily short....

Mills have an asking price they can do whatever they wish,  if no sales and no order files they need to move wood, asking price (cash) will drop this assumes they need to move wood.  sooo it moves but the cash (print) price is just a guide the actual cash market could be above or below this number print tends to lag.  actual   so i guess this answers nothing!!!   LOL
