Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.65%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.16%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 6.71% or 1.243 points to trade at 19.755 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) added 3.82% or 1.250 points to end at 34.010 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was up 1.72% or 1.94 points to 114.48 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which fell 3.26% or 4.28 points to trade at 127.00 at the close. Covestro AG (DE:1COV) declined 1.02% or 0.470 points to end at 45.670 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was down 0.89% or 0.600 points to 66.560.

The top performers on the MDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 6.91% to 45.855, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was up 3.03% to settle at 93.50 and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which gained 3.02% to close at 13.63.

The worst performers were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 8.29% to 27.880 in late trade, RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which lost 3.14% to settle at 44.420 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.44% to 175.600 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 6.78% to 45.8000, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 6.71% to settle at 19.755 and SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which gained 2.70% to close at 15.22.

The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 2.78% to 5.765 in late trade, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which lost 2.69% to settle at 271.50 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.44% to 175.600 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 385 to 298 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.82% or 1.250 to 34.010. Shares in Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.72% or 1.94 to 114.48. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.91% or 2.965 to 45.855. Shares in Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.02% or 0.40 to 13.63. Shares in Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.78% or 2.9100 to 45.8000.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.06% to 13.72.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.65 to $1454.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.30 to hit $57.16 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.21 to trade at $62.39 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1012, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8563.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.157.
