Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Food & Beverages and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.20%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.11%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Linde PLC (ETR:LINI), which rose 2.90% or 8.00 points to trade at 284.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 2.06% or 0.64 points to end at 31.71 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 1.91% or 0.77 points to 40.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 9.03% or 4.50 points to trade at 45.31 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 4.89% or 1.43 points to end at 27.79 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 2.05% or 1.30 points to 62.06.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 3.39% to 23.76, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 3.34% to settle at 25.03 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which gained 2.75% to close at 224.00.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 6.80% to 34.00 in late trade, Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which lost 1.96% to settle at 52.10 and Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 1.91% to 18.45 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 7.14% to 51.00, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 4.35% to settle at 45.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 3.39% to close at 23.76.
The worst performers were 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 2.13% to 18.34 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 1.75% to settle at 28.03 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 1.49% to 87.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 414 to 273 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 9.03% or 4.50 to 45.31. Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; rising 2.75% or 6.00 to 224.00. Shares in 11 AG (ETR:1U1) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.13% or 0.40 to 18.34.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.60% to 27.08.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.75 to $1,838.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.63% or 1.76 to hit $109.75 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.97 to trade at $115.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.17.
