  • NFLX going forward short term is basically going to follow the market , I would expect it to breach $500 again this week , but I also don’t expect a lot of downside unless the markets tank. Would I buy here – No . Would I here if– maybe depending on where it was bought it or one could just write covered calls. It’s a pricey stock for sure but nothing out of the ordinary for these type of stocks as long as they stay in favor. Market has stalled as should be expected after the insane run up over the last year. For those of you think NFLX is going to be the next Blockbuster or that Disney is going to put them under , that’s not a realistic assumption . FYI I am not a NFLX bull , I think the valuation is bloated but I don’t fight market trends and neither should you.

    • It’s obvious that you are probably early 20’s have less than a years’ experience with the stock market and basically don’t have a clue what you are doing. No one can accurately predict where a stock might trade , however I can predict with almost 100 % certainty that people like you eventually get creamed in the markets because of pure i-g-n-o- r-a-n-c-e.I also suspect based on when you joined this forum that you bought GME well above $200 and based on your posts you are very desperate for it to go back up. This whole I am being paid by hedge funds thing you have embedded in your mind is just more proof that you are a total ( fill in the blank because this site censors stuff) Grow up and act like an adult .

    • I'm long on Netflix for the short term. I agree the market is bloated. The biggest bubble so far in history is being created. But as long as the party is going, lets party ;) And when the party is over we're going to short it all the way down...

    • The sell side analysts pump machine in full force .This should be trading a lot lower on those sub numbers. And please don’t respond with but they had great revenue and earnings. That would be fine for a stock not already selling at 10 X sales with a P/e close to 100. And yes I was short and yes I made money as I closed positions and yes I still have some $500 strike puts I bought this morning.I was actually buying this in the aftermarket yesterday at prices from $ 485 - $487 and then selling around $495 because I already had the puts so it was a no lose situation. If you understand options you will understand this strategy .

                    • Just a matter of time until their VERY passive "sit and watch things" place in the market was eroded. And that's why Peloton is a better buy. Truly unique content and experience. TV is passive.

                      • I, unfortunately, bought on the opening of stocks today at 560 for NFLX. Bad choice, new to this. Was told it would go into profit by the next opening. Not sure what is best for me currently to do to reduce losses. Any kind advice would be appreciated. New to this. Lesson learned :)

                        • Netflix needs a major price correction at 400/- at some moment its going to touch and bounce back. I personally dont like to sell good shares at a loss. I just hold on of i can but dont dont be afraid if it drop even further tomorrow.

                        • kinda stalled here since november. i think it has nowhere to go but down. Maybe you can take the hit and get out. buying at the top of a stalled market is risky. im more inclined to buy some RWM at this point vs the studs from last year. But im wrong too sometimes.

                        • If you are thinking of buying this dip, probably a safer play to let it flush out over the few days. They they this up into earnings, also Netflix does seem to consolidate lower after an earnings run up even on decent sub numbers.

                              0
                            • I would let this flush out a bit, those sub numbers were bad, and next quarters estimates are anemic at best. A little surprised it went back over 500 after the sell off. Best guess is it trades back down shortly after the open tommorow.
