Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which rose 3.08% or 81.0 points to trade at 2707.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Polyus Gold International Ltd (MCX:PGIL) added 2.93% or 4.90 points to end at 172.40 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.33% or 0.437 points to 19.197 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 3.97% or 509.0 points to trade at 12309.0 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) declined 3.62% or 11.40 points to end at 303.60 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) was down 3.22% or 5.30 points to 159.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 105 to 82 and 8 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.30% to 37.100.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.65% or 7.10 to $1092.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.77% or 0.80 to hit $44.35 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.57 to trade at $49.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.51% to 64.395, while EUR/RUB rose 1.80% to 70.445.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.85.
