Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 5.78% or 0.0406 points to trade at 0.7426 at the close. Meanwhile, FSK EES (MCX:FEES) added 3.14% or 0.0047 points to end at 0.1540 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 2.93% or 27 points to 947 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which fell 1.68% or 1.54 points to trade at 90.34 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 1.50% or 0.0400 points to end at 2.6330 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was down 1.16% or 7.60 points to 645.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 137 to 81 and 24 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.56% to 26.870 a new 52-week low.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.74% or 9.85 to $1321.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.81% or 0.81 to hit $43.94 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.80% or 0.83 to trade at $45.37 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.82% to 64.9089, while EUR/RUB rose 0.50% to 71.164.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 97.53.
