Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 2.30% or 240.0 points to trade at 10690.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 1.30% or 2.20 points to end at 171.90 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 1.26% or 0.0108 points to 0.8693 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which fell 2.32% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.1540 at the close. RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) declined 2.02% or 0.0140 points to end at 0.6801 and Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) was down 2.00% or 0.90 points to 44.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 97 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.00% or 0.90 to 44.20.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.83% to 26.370.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.72% or 23.55 to $1343.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.83% or 0.35 to hit $41.58 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.77% or 0.34 to trade at $43.95 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.26% to 65.6126, while EUR/RUB fell 0.85% to 72.719.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 96.23.
