Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 3.64%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Software, Chemicals and Media sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 3.64% to hit a new 3-months low, while the MDAX index fell 2.00%, and the TecDAX index fell 3.66%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 1.23% or 0.52 points to trade at 42.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 0.79% or 0.72 points to end at 92.38 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was up 0.78% or 0.770 points to 99.870 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which fell 21.99% or 27.390 points to trade at 97.190 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 3.84% or 6.50 points to end at 162.80 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was down 3.24% or 1.750 points to 52.270.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 2.34% to 11.623, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was up 0.54% to settle at 46.450 and Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 16.750.

The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 6.28% to 32.54 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which lost 5.22% to settle at 4.430 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 5.09% to 21.980 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which rose 6.40% to 241.00, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 2.34% to settle at 11.623 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 0.16% to close at 86.940.

The worst performers were SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which was down 21.99% to 97.190 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 8.41% to settle at 16.01 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 5.61% to 16.480 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 556 to 109 and 28 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.54% or 0.250 to 46.450.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 11.79% to 33.65 a new 3-months high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.65 to $1906.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.39% or 1.35 to hit $38.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.07% or 1.29 to trade at $40.78 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1822, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.9080.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.017.
