Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.05%, while the MDAX index declined 1.72%, and the TecDAX index fell 3.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 0.38% or 0.24 points to trade at 63.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 0.38% or 0.56 points to end at 149.10 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was up 0.24% or 0.250 points to 106.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.64% or 6.700 points to trade at 137.800 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 3.47% or 0.562 points to end at 15.632 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was down 2.96% or 1.840 points to 60.360.
The top performers on the MDAX were Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which rose 0.62% to 16.220, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was up 0.60% to settle at 117.76 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) which gained 0.20% to close at 40.380.
The worst performers were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 20.96% to 23.2700 in late trade, Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which lost 8.53% to settle at 27.440 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 5.29% to 24.170 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 5.72% to 10.720, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 1.18% to settle at 20.540 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 0.27% to close at 22.060.
The worst performers were Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 5.29% to 24.170 in late trade, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which lost 4.64% to settle at 137.800 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 3.82% to 252.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 492 to 168 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) rose to all time highs; rising 0.62% or 0.100 to 16.220. Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 20.96% or 6.1700 to 23.2700. Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) rose to all time highs; up 0.20% or 0.080 to 40.380.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.49% to 19.19.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.65 to $1505.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.85% or 0.45 to hit $52.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.43 to trade at $57.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.0952, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8962.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 98.877.
