Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Construction and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.67% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 1.29%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.56%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which rose 2.23% or 2.98 points to trade at 136.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 2.14% or 2.54 points to end at 121.10 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 1.98% or 0.19 points to 9.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 8.24% or 1.93 points to trade at 21.50 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 4.23% or 15.10 points to end at 341.60 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 3.80% or 1.92 points to 48.56.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 5.77% to 8.14, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was up 2.72% to settle at 124.65 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 1.19% to close at 63.55.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 8.32% to 2.38 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 7.33% to settle at 60.66 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 6.46% to 23.47 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 1.59% to 22.35, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 1.49% to settle at 64.50 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which gained 1.21% to close at 116.80.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 11.36% to 12.95 in late trade, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which lost 6.46% to settle at 23.47 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 4.41% to 27.72 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 482 to 197 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.46% or 1.62 to 23.47. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 11.36% or 1.66 to 12.95. Shares in Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.46% or 1.62 to 23.47.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.96% to 21.80.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.67% or 12.05 to $1,799.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.09% or 1.59 to hit $74.52 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.48% or 2.01 to trade at $79.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 104.23.
