Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Utilities and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.69% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 2.29%, and the TecDAX index added 1.66%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 6.50% or 10.74 points to trade at 175.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 5.81% or 1.91 points to end at 34.79 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was up 4.76% or 2.64 points to 58.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA), which rose 0.57% or 0.26 points to trade at 45.90 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) added 0.75% or 0.14 points to end at 19.08 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 0.96% or 1.55 points to 162.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which rose 10.11% to 10.40, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was up 7.64% to settle at 45.50 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which gained 6.51% to close at 6.58.
The worst performers were Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 3.65% to 19.26 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 1.23% to settle at 38.58 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which was down 0.52% to 53.22 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 4.13% to 21.70, Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was up 3.97% to settle at 27.22 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which gained 3.71% to close at 106.20.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 0.42% to 23.90 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 0.05% to settle at 40.40 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 0.04% to 130.45 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 493 to 188 and 85 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.33% to 28.96.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.35 to $1,710.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.15% or 1.14 to hit $100.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.88% or 0.94 to trade at $107.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.55% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 106.52.
