Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Electronic Equipment, Aerospace & Defense and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.86%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 1.92% or 1.14 points to trade at 60.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.77% or 1.66 points to end at 95.20 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 1.32% or 0.52 points to 39.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 4.89% or 7.95 points to trade at 154.60 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 3.44% or 5.86 points to end at 164.68 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was down 2.44% or 57.00 points to 2,282.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which rose 8.59% to 106.20, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was up 7.03% to settle at 14.85 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 4.56% to close at 8.03.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 13.64% to 1.99 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 4.89% to settle at 154.60 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 4.25% to 29.28 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 221 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.59% or 8.40 to 106.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.41% or 9.55 to $2,360.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.78% or 0.67 to hit $85.76 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.48 to trade at $89.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 103.90.
