If we are back to risk-on, why are gold and treasuries climbing? Smart players are standing on the sidelines until we have clarity on trade and in the meantime increasing their positions in safe havens because they know this rally is overextended and ready to collapse.

@Smokey, the gap in VIX 14.8x has been filled finally! This was one of the pre-requisite I was looking for before the next big pb, remember?  =)  Only thing I can't explain is why they have not re-calibrated Gold... Will be keeping an eye over there.

Well, this vix just finished it's 8th consecutive week down, which it's only done once before, back in 1992.  I don't know if the general uptrend is going to end in the very near future, but it's a pretty safe bet that the rides about to get a ot bumpier.

For the first time in awhile I'm starting to get concerned about next week. I may add to hedge Tuesday. I don't see any big 200 point down but could see 50 down, could be from much higher though. And might be a non event.

Jim Bobbins people start to believe it is time to short. However, the more people think about it the more they will lose you money. Why? Big $$ will go the opposite and grab all the money people lost.

Jim Bobbins my thought process is they know it would go up more than 2940 in long term. so they dumb it all to create panic selling and re-buy at a better price with a better position. Ask this forum along. From 2300 to 2600, how many people short at 2600? then 2700? (I short at 2700 btw and lost most of my gain from December low). now we might hit 2800. still the same, people will short before 2800 and hope for it to make a U-turn. Likely it will not. because a month ago, the Department of Treasury already have a meeting with top big banks in the United States to recover the maket. The chance that they will climb this to ATH then dump but who knows when the dump is gonna happen. Before it happens, don't try to get when it will happen because you might lose all your money like me during January.

Retail shops are more fun than Amazon that sells already too expensive products. P/E ration is absurd Amazon and most of the US500 are too expensive, bearish and gold will go much higher.

Agreed that this is expensive. On the fence with gold. True, a flush of the market typically is good for gold, but if economic conditions get dire, gold reserves could be a used backstop, diluting price. People want to think like some trade deal could be made tomorrow or the next. Not of that thinking. I'm trying to decide if a deal will be made in my lifetime. I mean, we are trying to decide who will be the dominant economic power going forward. Nothing says that's an easy position to come to terms with. Famine and/or war are equally as likely possibilities as an agreement.

Vertical moves up and down in a burgeoning H&S formation usually never resolve in favor of the herd. However, Central and Money center banks and other various financial institutions have their entire existence riding on this bubble.

1.6k per share is not exactly cheap. I think too many people were expecting a pullback last week. Volume stayed relatively low, people were playing it safe. I think it could change next week given how strong the weekly close was. But you never really know.

Potus was told by big money to stop bashing the Fed, stabilize his cabinet and make a deal with China quickly. A correction will be generated to allow big bucks to take positions before the deal is signed, then back to melt up mode. Worst case scenario is 2480, mid 2500s more likely. Bounce from there will be epic.
