Another huge drop for Apache today... 9.3% for the day at it's peak (so far). The earnings report showed a miss of 0.21 per share. APA achieved first oil at one of thier North Sea Tiebacks. They indicate substantial production increases for the 2nd half of the year. The current price point (43.27) is around on target vs. related stocks, and the recent 'bubble' seems to have all but collapsed. This price represents a new 52 week low. If oils uptrend remains intact, this becomes a buy IMO. Could see it break $54 by the end of the year on solid earnings and production growth.

Unfortunately, this one met with a weeks long waterfall (briefly interrupted by some support due to dollar buying after Trumps address to congress). The bottom is likely in, and a significant upward move is in queue, but the move will be muted until the potential extension of OPEC cuts is resolved in mid May. Also around this time period is Q1 earnings results. Income deferred to 2017 on the basis that Trump will reduce corporate taxes may mean that producer equities report significant beats for Q1. The bullish dollar has played a very strong role in the riser of producer equities. Even if oil rises, if the dollar falls, this could stay level through that period. Further, oil has been closely tied to the dollar lately. Best of luck trading.
