        • Chris Hellmanbaba is still a growth stock so thats not an argument its just undervaluated

        • I would class it more as value stock, maybe the main reason its going up is due to it just undervalued. Or a shift more towards value stocks that is what I think. The downside seems limited to around 180-190 and with some positive news and momentum going, we might see 300+.

          • Guys I found this article useful. Thought of sharing with you=)What is the best holding time frame in investing? Most investors are curious on this question and the answer in it. I found this article very helpful to help us analyze the best holding period for investing. Check it out guys =) https://investingtipstrading.com/2021/06/13/the-best-holding-time-frame-in-investing/

            • your time frame should be determined by the companies fundamentals, growth rate, CEO & whether or not its a trade or investment (trades make you money while you wait for your investment). Example, BABA'S big growth driver only has a 3-4yr projected growth rate before it starts to slow unless they find another driver or their other ones fill that void. All these rates r on their company fillings. I don't think it will happen b/c they can buy whatever they want but if they stopped innovating or their growth drivers took a hit no one will buy a Chinese tech company @ 26-28x earnings regardless of your time frame. If you just bought & held w/o understanding where that valuation/ growth comes from like PAM am, blockbuster, radio shack, sears, compaq, Kodak which were all good companies @ the time all are out of business now. All the billionaires in that article can buy & hold forever b/c they get board sets or are majority holders unlike retail investors that can't do anything but sell.

          • if u think BABA will be liquidated or controlled by the CCP b/c of the new antitrust rules you shouldn't buy, but if you think the new rules are to even the playing field for all Chinese tech just like US rules you should buy. Especially, if you think BABA wont be delisted from the US exchange even though there is a new law called the holding foreign companies accountable act signed into law last Wed. This gives Chinese companies listed on the US exchange 3yrs to have their accounting verified by the US, which BABA already does by a top auditing firm in NY & they must prove that no board members are tied to the CCP, which is unlikely b/c they came after BABA for not doing what they wanted. If they do get delisted you can open an account w/ a brokerage account that allows trading on the Hong Kong exchange & transfer your BABA holdings after they get approval for their pending dual listing or you can sell your shares bk to BABA if this happens.
            1
            • if the dual listing gets approved it will open the door for a new pool of buyers, but will dilute equity by 5%-+. The dilution % will vary, right now its 5%. BABA is still on the top 10 list for investment funds, but that number is behind bc of the SEC filling release date. You can go directly to SEC to look @ 13F filings or use this link to find investment fund holdings https://whalewisdom.com/

              • (Bloomberg) -- "China’s new data security regime gives President Xi Jinping the power to shut down or fine tech companies as part of his drive to wrest control of vast reams of data held by giants like Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Tencent Holdings Ltd." So think twice or three times or listen to Xi before trading!

                • They had the power to do that before the new antitrust rules. The new antitrust rules are no different then US rules, you should read them.

                  • I bought more 2. the risk/ reward is 2 good w/ baba growth, huge cash flow, ant group business restructuring approved/ operating, this new ride hailing ipo, China's gov backing off after fine. The only hangup is the US on whether or not they are going to do anything. I'm looking long term not short.

                  • Your right. Any type of government action scares people until it settles down which is starting to happen. The new antitrust monopoly rules are no different then US rules. The Chinese government seems like their trying 2 develop change & regulate companies like the SEC does. If they were going to force BABA to liquidate all assets/ break apart the company they would have already done that instead of fining them.
