Buying physical platinum must be very bad to do even when very cheap. Can be very difficult to resale. Only trade in platinum fututes and buy silver/gold physical.

You won't know it's a bottom until it's gone but I'd expect a melt down similar to when it went from 830 to 755 in two days (but I'm figuring lower than 755).  755 sure looked like a bottom in the summer but we are inching towards it slowly but surely.

Lower highs and lower lows for platinum last years..to switch to platinum from palladium means much higher platinum prices,, so why do it?

Just a chance when palladium finally gets knocked off its pedestal, that it will drag platinum down to a great buying point<600--we could be getting close especially if we see a  banker stoked stock market  rally,as early as next week.  Could get verrrrry interesting here!  Keep yer powder dry.

John Shaeffer During the depths of 2008 recession it didn't come close to 600.  It hasn't broken 600 for 15 years. $595 or something for  platinum?  Maybe if gold breaks $1000 and Palladium is under $800 as well. Don't know what perfect storm of deflation would be needed for that but sounds like nonsense to me.  I'd lick my chops at the chance to buy physical hand over fist at the opportunity though.

chrisP bacon  Looking for a replay of 1931 when the baby was thrown out with the bath water.  I'd be picking up this (PPLT) as well as the other PMs--look at HM during the depression--it was the only way you could own gold legally.

Dimosthenis Antoniou The PLAT:GOLD ratio gapped down to an all time low again earlier this week.  We could be into the endgame for PL's decline, but I am holding off until we see nearer to .50 on PLAT:GOLD and sentiment down to like 50% bearish.  Good luck to all here--thanks.

I have never seen such an ugly chart. 760 is for sure. But will it hold ? Why buy platinum - it´s useless in the future.  Even tests vs. palladium dare weak. Only chance is gold will bring it up - but then it´s better to have gold.

I think it'll get to 760 but not without a fight or a quick dip and retracement. If you see it then start to drift down (most likely because of stock/euro crisis) then hold on.  But do realize that in non-us currencies it's not as much of a good discount.  But yes, long term, it's a brutally ugly chart.  Gotta have a 5 year outlook and deep pockets or fast reflexes.

Wheatowmaker again True.  Given the choice, if you were in Europe and you had to bet on growth which would mean buying platinum for cars, or silver (because your dollar is going to ********and you are worried about the Euro), which would you choose?

Buy at the bad news..China's passenger vehicle sales slide for six consecutive monthsSource: Xinhua| 2018-12-10 21:47:19|BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's passenger vehicle sales have been shrinking for six consecutive months, data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) showed Monday.About 2.02 million passenger vehicles were sold last month, down 18 percent year on year, according to the CPCA data. The accumulative sales of vehicles amounted to 20.15 million from January to November, down 4 percent compared with the same period last year.Sales of new energy passenger vehicles, however, saw a 57.8-percent rise, amounting to 129,000 last month.China is the world's largest auto market and also the fastest-growing market for new energy vehicles, thanks to the government's preferential policies to boost clean energy use to curb pollution.

Nice gap lower on the PLAT:GOLD on Dec 6.  Could be the beginning of the end for the PL suffering.  Looking good below.6 on the ratio and lower.  Right now around .63.. . 1150:600 would be nice.
