Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 6.14% or 0.0379 points to trade at 0.6556 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 4.55% or 0.1110 points to end at 2.5510 and Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) was up 1.90% or 16.0 points to 859.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which fell 2.99% or 0.730 points to trade at 23.700 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.54% or 69.0 points to end at 2649.0 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was down 2.37% or 1.99 points to 82.12.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 105 to 105 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.14% or 0.0379 to 0.6556. Shares in Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.90% or 16.0 to 859.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.44% to 34.610.
Gold for August delivery was up 1.29% or 17.25 to $1356.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.47% or 2.19 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 4.25% or 2.13 to trade at $47.97 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.77% to 64.4193, while EUR/RUB rose 0.06% to 71.437.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.08.
