Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were PIK (MCX:PIKK), which rose 2.64% or 7.50 points to trade at 292.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) added 2.12% or 15.80 points to end at 762.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 2.04% or 8.00 points to 400.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which fell 10.26% or 1.395 points to trade at 12.200 at the close. Megion (MCX:MFGS) declined 5.56% or 30.0 points to end at 510.0 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was down 3.22% or 5.05 points to 151.95.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 130 to 78 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.26% or 1.395 to 12.200.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.21% to 23.890.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.30% or 3.80 to $1251.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.24 to trade at $53.91 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.25% to 56.5123, while EUR/RUB rose 0.05% to 63.174.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.33.
