Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 4.31% or 3.24 points to trade at 78.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 4.24% or 8.00 points to end at 196.50 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was up 3.35% or 8.00 points to 246.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR), which fell 6.22% or 0.0400 points to trade at 0.6030 at the close. Polyus Gold International Ltd (MCX:PGIL) declined 3.49% or 6.90 points to end at 190.90 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 2.25% or 0.0102 points to 0.4431.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 112 to 84 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) rose to all time highs; up 4.24% or 8.00 to 196.50. Shares in MVideo (MCX:MVID) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.35% or 8.00 to 246.70.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.14% to 36.650.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1088.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.17% or 0.52 to hit $43.77 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.30 to trade at $47.87 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.27% to 64.633, while EUR/RUB rose 0.58% to 69.525.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 99.09.
