Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 11.12% or 39.10 points to trade at 390.60 at the close. Meanwhile, NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 5.26% or 25.0 points to end at 500.1 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 3.54% or 12.10 points to 353.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which fell 3.85% or 6.10 points to trade at 152.50 at the close. Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) declined 3.43% or 12 points to end at 338 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 3.42% or 0.0299 points to 0.8451.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 170 to 60 and 11 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.73% to 17.700.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 8.75 to $1273.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $57.12 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.17 to trade at $62.36 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.31% to 58.4350, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 69.5225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.98.
