Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.44%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 6.02% or 33.5 points to trade at 590.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) added 4.93% or 37.0 points to end at 788.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 3.63% or 16.70 points to 476.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which fell 3.33% or 60.0 points to trade at 1740.0 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) declined 3.10% or 15.00 points to end at 469.00 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was down 1.19% or 2050 points to 170200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 133 to 81 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) fell to all time lows; losing 3.33% or 60.0 to 1740.0. Shares in Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.63% or 16.70 to 476.70.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.93% to 28.170.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.33% or 4.30 to $1318.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.02 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.44 to trade at $74.44 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 62.6377, while EUR/RUB fell 0.11% to 75.8975.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 91.30.
