Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Consumer & Cyclical and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.18%, while the MDAX index added 0.39%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 2.28% or 4.00 points to trade at 179.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.02% or 0.165 points to end at 8.319 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) was up 1.84% or 0.260 points to 14.415 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 3.52% or 0.247 points to trade at 6.770 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 0.89% or 0.95 points to end at 106.30 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was down 0.81% or 1.15 points to 140.25.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which rose 4.19% to 65.940, Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which was up 3.99% to settle at 37.885 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 2.45% to close at 60.25.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 2.03% to 101.30 in late trade, Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which lost 1.70% to settle at 11.250 and Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which was down 1.48% to 34.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were STRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which rose 5.61% to 53.990, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was up 2.94% to settle at 10.487 and Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which gained 1.69% to close at 36.450.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 6.80% to 55.000 in late trade, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which lost 4.15% to settle at 17.070 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 1.48% to 25.245 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 407 to 316 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) rose to all time highs; rising 2.45% or 1.44 to 60.25.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.42% to 14.58.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.24% or 2.85 to $1199.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.59% or 0.76 to hit $48.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.65 to trade at $51.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.0635, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8708.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 101.34.
