Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.01%, while the MDAX index declined 1.25%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 0.63% or 0.380 points to trade at 61.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 0.61% or 1.55 points to end at 254.20 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was up 0.51% or 0.380 points to 74.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which fell 3.04% or 14.000 points to trade at 445.900 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 2.83% or 1.120 points to end at 38.450 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was down 2.33% or 3.40 points to 142.60.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.44% to 18.920, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 3.28% to settle at 13.07 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 1.77% to close at 94.060.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 4.87% to 10.055 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 3.95% to settle at 29.20 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 3.90% to 15.76 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 3.60% to 14.66, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 3.28% to settle at 13.07 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 0.91% to close at 2.554.
The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which was down 3.95% to 29.20 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 3.88% to settle at 53.020 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 3.52% to 60.300 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 533 to 173 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 3-years highs; up 4.44% or 0.805 to 18.920. Shares in Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.77% or 1.640 to 94.060. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; down 3.90% or 0.64 to 15.76. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.52% or 2.200 to 60.300.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 14.52% to 20.27.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.26% or 4.65 to $1811.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.34% or 1.12 to hit $84.42 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.64 to trade at $87.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.75% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8338.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 95.790.
