Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Transportation & Logistics and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.33%, while the MDAX index declined 0.27%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Puma SE (DE:PUMG), which rose 3.52% or 3.61 points to trade at 106.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) added 1.88% or 0.750 points to end at 40.635 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) was up 1.69% or 2.000 points to 120.175 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 6.89% or 0.820 points to trade at 11.085 at the close. HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) declined 4.28% or 3.40 points to end at 76.00 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) was down 3.18% or 1.640 points to 49.900.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which rose 6.74% to 14.260, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 2.76% to settle at 32.380 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 1.72% to close at 20.675.
The worst performers were Befesa SA (DE:BFSA) which was down 3.17% to 67.30 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 3.05% to settle at 41.910 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.05% to 12.87 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which rose 2.76% to 32.380, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 2.38% to settle at 43.820 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 1.72% to close at 20.675.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.67% to 39.150 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 3.05% to settle at 41.910 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.05% to 12.87 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 421 to 275 and 76 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.79% to 16.41.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 4.25 to $1797.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.35% or 1.99 to hit $82.66 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.24% or 1.92 to trade at $83.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1600, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8440.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.823.
