Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.08%, while the MDAX index lost 0.48%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe), which rose 2.87% or 0.88 points to trade at 31.37 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 1.42% or 0.60 points to end at 42.75 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 1.37% or 0.80 points to 59.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG), which fell 2.42% or 0.67 points to trade at 27.04 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) declined 2.31% or 0.77 points to end at 32.58 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was down 2.17% or 3.22 points to 145.50.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which rose 4.90% to 35.54, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 1.98% to settle at 52.42 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which gained 1.95% to close at 52.28.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 9.36% to 28.28 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 5.32% to settle at 2.60 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 2.58% to 13.02 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 3.29% to 17.75, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 1.62% to settle at 78.60 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 1.36% to close at 32.13.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 9.36% to 28.28 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 2.68% to settle at 31.98 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 2.58% to 13.02 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 430 to 245 and 85 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.49% to 18.49.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.28% or 5.45 to $1,940.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $79.93 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.49 to trade at $85.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 101.46.
