Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.00%, while the MDAX index gained 3.63%, and the TecDAX index added 3.22%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 15.50% or 16.75 points to trade at 124.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) added 11.05% or 16.31 points to end at 163.88 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 8.19% or 1.580 points to 20.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which fell 9.33% or 3.060 points to trade at 29.720 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 5.43% or 3.12 points to end at 54.29 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was down 4.70% or 1.265 points to 25.655.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 15.79% to 29.56, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 13.49% to settle at 34.920 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which gained 12.56% to close at 4.321.
The worst performers were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was down 17.78% to 22.20 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which lost 11.00% to settle at 53.000 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 10.58% to 5.660 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 15.79% to 29.56, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was up 9.69% to settle at 34.62 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 8.63% to close at 2.133.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 7.36% to 6.258 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 7.26% to settle at 47.900 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 5.12% to 6.025 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 409 to 303 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.70% or 1.265 to 25.655. Shares in Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) fell to all time lows; falling 17.78% or 4.80 to 22.20. Shares in Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.00% or 6.550 to 53.000. Shares in Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.36% or 0.497 to 6.258. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.12% or 0.325 to 6.025.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.53% to 76.85.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.39% or 5.75 to $1472.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 23.86% or 4.97 to hit $25.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 15.07% or 3.75 to trade at $28.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 2.17% to 1.0676, while EUR/GBP fell 1.72% to 0.9234.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.83% at 103.400.
