Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.49%, while the MDAX index climbed 2.20%, and the TecDAX index added 2.60%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 3.91% or 0.668 points to trade at 17.738 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 3.77% or 6.000 points to end at 164.950 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 3.49% or 2.030 points to 60.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn), which fell 2.38% or 0.680 points to trade at 27.880 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) declined 1.37% or 0.780 points to end at 56.280 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 0.07% or 0.03 points to 40.35.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which rose 7.32% to 35.76, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 5.45% to settle at 127.600 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which gained 5.00% to close at 98.34.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 4.40% to 3.451 in late trade, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which lost 1.45% to settle at 40.920 and LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was down 0.92% to 96.520 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 10.15% to 23.4500, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was up 8.00% to settle at 11.1400 and Shop Apotheke Europe NV (DE:SAEG) which gained 6.64% to close at 45.000.
The worst performers were Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which was down 4.58% to 0.11 in late trade, Tele Columbus AG (DE:TC1n) which lost 3.51% to settle at 3.17 and Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which was down 0.26% to 13.625 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 559 to 127 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.37% or 0.780 to 56.280.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.04% to 22.47.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.00 to $1216.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.27% or 0.18 to hit $66.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.30 to trade at $76.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1316, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.87.
