Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.27%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.88%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 2.96% or 0.69 points to trade at 24.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) added 2.47% or 0.75 points to end at 31.08 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was up 2.04% or 0.54 points to 27.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which fell 1.45% or 1.60 points to trade at 108.70 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 1.38% or 0.59 points to end at 42.06 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 0.89% or 2.70 points to 301.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 4.69% to 29.24, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 4.34% to settle at 2.43 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.74% to close at 5.60.
The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was down 3.51% to 8.58 in late trade, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which lost 2.92% to settle at 19.64 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 1.90% to 20.14 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 3.43% to 27.78, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 1.78% to settle at 51.58 and Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which gained 1.69% to close at 29.49.
The worst performers were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 1.90% to 20.14 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 1.68% to settle at 31.11 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 1.56% to 2.27 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 382 to 307 and 72 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.47% to 20.33 a new 6-months low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.32% or 5.75 to $1,809.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.45% or 1.18 to hit $80.04 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.62% or 1.41 to trade at $85.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.60.
