Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Construction and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.17% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index added 0.49%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 1.57% or 2.000 points to trade at 129.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 1.47% or 1.000 points to end at 68.860 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.12% or 3.00 points to 271.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 2.16% or 0.164 points to trade at 7.424 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 2.00% or 0.305 points to end at 14.945 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 1.29% or 1.48 points to 113.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 4.90% to 32.510, Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which was up 3.08% to settle at 120.60 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 3.05% to close at 107.950.
The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 2.31% to 5.162 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 2.29% to settle at 68.40 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 2.15% to 43.740 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 4.90% to 32.510, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 1.70% to settle at 299.00 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 1.61% to close at 2.777.
The worst performers were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 2.15% to 43.740 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 0.97% to settle at 92.220 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 0.53% to 31.83 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 405 to 271 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) rose to all time highs; up 1.12% or 3.00 to 271.60.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.65% to 12.51.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1560.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $58.71 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.27 to trade at $65.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1082, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8526.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.430.
