Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Electronic Equipment and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.99%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 3.23% or 6.40 points to trade at 204.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) added 3.08% or 4.35 points to end at 145.65 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 2.93% or 1.09 points to 38.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which fell 1.56% or 0.55 points to trade at 34.80 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.56% or 0.38 points to end at 23.97 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was down 0.28% or 0.19 points to 67.07.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which rose 14.27% to 34.76, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 7.78% to settle at 2.77 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which gained 6.26% to close at 0.43.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 3.13% to 10.85 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 2.66% to settle at 2.63 and Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 1.83% to 348.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 180 and 96 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.41% or 9.45 to $2,321.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $78.54 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $83.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 105.09.
