Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.10%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (PA:TCFP), which rose 3.50% or 2.98 points to trade at 88.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) added 1.32% or 1.40 points to end at 107.40 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was up 1.04% or 1.05 points to 101.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.79% or 0.424 points to trade at 14.784 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 1.55% or 1.29 points to end at 81.68 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) was down 1.46% or 0.66 points to 44.22.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Thales (PA:TCFP) which rose 3.50% to 88.06, Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:ETL) which was up 1.91% to settle at 16.55 and CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which gained 1.73% to close at 18.220.
The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 5.14% to 2.305 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which lost 2.79% to settle at 14.784 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 2.75% to 47.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 245 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.32% or 1.40 to 107.40. Shares in Renault SA (PA:RENA) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.46% or 0.66 to 44.22.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 5.42% to 12.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 9.65 to $1472.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $57.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.14 to trade at $62.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1018, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8555.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 98.045.
