Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.41% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN), which rose 2.67% or 1.43 points to trade at 55.07 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.27% or 0.177 points to end at 7.979 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 2.13% or 0.99 points to 47.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.83% or 1.80 points to trade at 215.00 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.76% or 0.10 points to end at 13.00 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 0.42% or 0.75 points to 179.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (PA:SESFd) which rose 5.63% to 21.00, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 4.84% to settle at 6.242 and Neopost (PA:NPOS) which gained 4.62% to close at 35.80.
The worst performers were Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 2.77% to 11.045 in late trade, Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which lost 0.83% to settle at 215.00 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) which was down 0.76% to 13.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 391 to 224 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neopost (PA:NPOS) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.62% or 1.58 to 35.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.11% to 16.25.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.45% or 5.70 to $1248.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.47% or 0.73 to hit $50.24 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.45 to trade at $52.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.0723, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.8585.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.01.
