        • at a guess, I'd say it's to do with expiry of the 30-day Greenshoe Option in the secondary offering...the share price is back pretty much to where it was before the offering - hopefully, it continues higher; the rise in most E-commerce stocks in recent sessions bodes well for the upcoming seasons of goodwill (@justanoldguy, thanks for the lIghtspeed tip!)

      • Low today so far was 308.60, this is the closest the price has hit to my bid @305 yet, maybe next week.

        • We are approaching $320 too quickly, pulling my bids lower to $305, if I miss out on the little bounces so be it.

          • 320 when did that happen, must have been quick lol

          • Just broke 320 today, I still hv my bids in @ 305.

        • I finally got out of my small pos @ 339.60, will wait for a dip towards 320 to get back in.

          • I'm good w the nice profits I locked in, nothing goes straight up or down, so that's that.

          • Brit, certainly a consideration to measure, both SE and SHOP are in good position to prosper, being Canadian I have a affinity for SHOP, you might want to put LSPD on a watchlist
            0
          • thanks for that, I've just had a quick look at LSPD ...down heavily of late, but then so is the whole market - glad I had that caveat in my responses to Xilin Chen!! This could be as good a time as any to take a small nibble...

        • Analyst at Stifel (no idea of the name, nor their track record) suggested today this could hit $400 within a year - I wouldn't complain if they were proved right! };0)

              • were you referring to me? };0) Sadly, my stop losses were indeed hit, but fortunately that just meant cashing in on a decent profit...and even more fortunately I jumped back in with a slightly smaller stake and at a slightly lower price ... just had a thought: if it wasn't me you were referring to, then apologies for taking the few seconds of your life needed to read this, hehe!!

            • do somebody knows why so sharp down?
              0
              • Just a guess - after the second offering hedgefunds holding sea ltd calculated a "fair" price for the shares of about 330. (because hedgefund logic) - The rapid up and down to roughly 320 continues until all hedgies sold. After that it will rocket again t ATH within days.
                0
              • If your question is "why is this down by 6% today?" then the answer is: Sea ltd had a second offering and sold new shares for liquidity - this return earnings per share, but gives them much needed liquidity to expand with shopee into india and poland. In the long run this move will benefit shareholders, and in the short run... well... the thing you see here.

              • Second offering - more shares - shares diluted - liqudity for expansion secured. TL;DR Don't worry. Will be on ATH again soon
                0
            • Best Case Scenario: we get about 1% green a day - will take at least 2 weeks till ATH. Worst case: 4 weeks

                    • ...on re-reading the annoucncement, I expect the ADS's are being offered at around $300 each so a larger drop is indeed possible :(

                    • Ever Watching , Co seeking to raise $6.3Bn through ADS & Bonds; the Bond element said to be $2.5Bn, so the ADS element $3.8Bn.  Total no of ADS being offered (including what is being called a "Greenshoe Option" - if anyone can explain what that means, I'd be grateful) = 12.65 million....suggests an offering price of c$300

                    • This stock will correct hard when the market falls. Don't chase it. Revenue growth sounds good but most of its growth was bought. EPS became more negative. Will have a big trading rage - u will see $350 and $290 again.

                      • I love to invest in a company, who uses all their money on investing in their future. As long as their revenue is growing, then I'm happy. Then the earnings can come later 😍

                      • Penetrating southeast asian markets (different countries have different cultures/issues) will be way more expensive than Alibaba and Amazon penetrating their homogenous domestic markets. Still an exciting company in an exciting place, but keep an eye on the margins

                              • thanks for that - it explains a lot: I guess that since Tencent owns a chunk of SE, people fear that it may have to sell part/all of that chunk - hence the 'implosion'??
                                0
                              • glad to see the implosion didn't last that long - even gladder (?) that I followed my instincts and bought on the dip!!¬
