I see the interactive screen, workouts and games as the main selling point of Peloton bikes compared to regular gym bikes, but there's nothing else special about them. If you compare Peloton to Wattbike Atom, Tacx Neo Bike or Wahoo Kickr Bike you'll notice that they are somewhere around 1% accuracy range where Peloton claims 10% accuracy. This is because there's no direct measurement in Peloton but instead an estimation based on resistance and pedal velocity. Direct measurement costs but it's also essential for useful training equipment. Otherwise your fitness based workouts will always be either too easy or too hard.
was Peloton going with the idea that if you was using more resistance they gave you credit for going farther, instead of giving you the actual distance of like riding up a mountain incline. there are different ways of looking at things.
