I am not from the US nor the European region, thus I am buying this stock via OTC (ECIFY). Kinda interesting that the main stock EDF is rising, while the OTC one is falling, totally no idea what is going on.

This stock is difficult to assess whether it is a buy, even at these prices. Government own 80%+ of the stock and has all power, have even plans to get it off the market (Project Hercules, named later Grand project) of to split the company up. Aside of this, too much problems with the EPR reactors, and reactors currently in 10 year review (about 5 are halted, probably more to follow)... I wanted to buy but held my horses, could you lower in the coming weeks in my opinion

Very good prospect for this stock, currently undervalued. EDF's revenue is extremely sensitive to electricity prices, 0,3billion euro of extra EBITDA for every €/MWh. Weather conditions in Europe (heat wave combined with low wind conditions, droughts in northern Europe and decrease of hydropower), commodity prices (gas prices are the highest in 5 years in the continent) combined with high CO2 prices (4 fold increase last year, passing from around 5 euro to around 20/tCO2; roughly +€1/tCO2 price leads to an increase of around +€0.4/MWh for French electricity. ) are contributing to increase power prices in EDF's markets in Europe. On top of that, there is a double effect of carbon prices for EDF, for EDF's production is very much based on nuclear and hydro, producing no CO2. Hydropower production has increased in France +38% ; nuclear production 5%. First quart results have been reviewed upwards (stock went up 15% aprox since); expect 2018 final results to beat expectations again.
