In addition, the company also engages in coil cutting, flattening of cold-rolled, hot-rolled, and galvanized sheet metal, and the manufacture and sale of welded steel pipes, tubes, and steel profiles for dry construction; produces and distributes desalinated water and supplies water to mining companies. The company was formerly known as Compañía de Acero del Pacífico S.A. de Inversiones and changed its name to CAP S.A. in May 1991. CAP S.A. was incorporated in 1946 and is based in Las Condes, Chile.
