If it busts out it will squeeze to 3.8. If not we could see as low as 2.5 and still be a bullish chart afterward.

And I would just be a little careful, because as soon as some cold sets in, u think jump on the bull train etc, but we know the big boys are heavy on the longs, and light on the short --- so how many more longs can they go from here -- Also -- take a look at what producers have been doing over the last month -- not the same direction as MM. I am not recommending either buy or short by the above commentary.

Bull is very strong and patient this year,I totally agree NG will back to 2.8 level, but won’t be now, let’s put the price up first and wait for the next entry to short that will be very smart action!

Katie,Have a good look at the NG charts for the last decade. The price run up in October is but a blip in comparison. NG futures historically have a well documented repeated history of spiking very high. There were sellers at each one of those spikes that were chanting as they tried to sell the top of a rally. These price spikes are a characteristic of this commodity especially close to the contract expiry date. Sellers who gang up with bearish production and weather chanting that do not pay heed to market fundamentals have gotten majorly burned in the past with NG futures. I believe shorting this market is extremely risky and being that I am a bottom buyer will hold out for for the big payday. It’s a great position to be in because I win big or I win huge. I have seen no real catalyst to reverse the upward trend so far so I am staying aboard the NG ship as we head into uncharted waters.

Paul George, compare the weather now to five weeks ago.  I was buying while everyone was chanting high production and unsupportive weather.  The math of supply and demand added up and was overlooked by traders who were used to making money selling.  They are doing the same thing now only consumption and exports have risen and weather is much more supportive.

That was written on October 16, as Paul George just pointed out, the latest runs are a lot cooler.  . . The latest from Natural gas Weather is:. Oct 19-25:A weather system lingers over Texas and the South with heavy showers and cool vs normal conditions where highs will reach the 50s and 60s. It will warm briefly across the Great Lakes and eastern US today as high pressure builds in. However, the next cold shot will begin pushing into the N. Plains today, then across the Great Lakes and eastern US this weekend into early next week with chilly lows of 20s and 30s. High pressure will warm much of the country during the second half of next week with mostly comfortable temperatures. Overall, national demand will be HIGH.

What about thr candles that show buying support? Impossible to guage from these charts alone whether the selling of the top of the candles or the buying of the bottom of the candles has dominant significance. One should also consider overall fundamentals for a longer period of time before making a definitive decision from only a chart. Trends do reverse, but usually as a function of a clear catalyst. Production has been matched and exceeded by consumption + imports overall in 2018. Weather is getting more supportive as we head into the demand season, and it is especially important to note that prices have risen sharply in an off demand month with much less weather support than now.

All of your charts show selling at the top of several types of candles. Every market is comprised of buying and selling. If it is the selling pressure at the top of each daily or weekly candle that you are pointing out, that does not indicate a market direction. It only indicates that there was selling.
