Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 11.45% or 0.410 points to trade at 3.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) added 9.18% or 0.180 points to end at 2.140 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 7.18% or 0.700 points to 10.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which fell 8.24% or 0.53 points to trade at 5.90 at the close. Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) declined 7.31% or 0.190 points to end at 2.410 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 4.03% or 0.39 points to 9.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 201 to 141 and 62 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.31% or 4.00 to $1303.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.37% or 1.58 to hit $68.31 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.50% or 1.89 to trade at $77.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.76% to 4.4688, while EUR/TRY fell 0.69% to 5.2142.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.83% at 94.02.
