Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Rubber and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coland (TW:4144), which rose 9.91% or 4.50 points to trade at 49.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Thunder Tiger (TW:8033) added 9.90% or 0.79 points to end at 8.77 and Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) was up 9.86% or 1.70 points to 18.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Macronix (TW:2337), which fell 9.72% or 0.310 points to trade at 2.880 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 5.91% or 0.60 points to end at 9.55 and Evertex (TW:1470) was down 5.85% or 1.15 points to 18.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 412 to 331 and 109 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $50.23 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1214.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 32.606, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.2013.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.70.
