Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC), which rose 6.34% or 3.200 points to trade at 53.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Akron (MCX:AKRN) added 3.52% or 125.0 points to end at 3675.0 and Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) was up 3.43% or 93.5 points to 2816.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which fell 4.01% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.0948 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 3.23% or 6.50 points to end at 195.00 and Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) was down 2.90% or 2.88 points to 96.33.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 106 to 104 and 23 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.58% to 36.340.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.70% or 21.20 to $1227.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.12% or 0.05 to hit $41.81 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.12 to trade at $44.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.41% to 66.0256, while EUR/RUB fell 0.42% to 74.347.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.86.
